About yourself:
A few things always seem to come up when I tell people about myself. I used to go to UBC in the Arts faculty for two years, travelling one and a half hours by transit each way. Now I’m here in SFU where it’s my final year of university, coinciding with SIFE SFU’s 2011-2012 cycle, and I couldn’t be happier. Be sure to follow me @TroyLiew on twitter… for random tweets.

I’m entering my 3rd year at SFU in pursuit of a major in Communications with a minor in English. Last year my involvement with SIFE SFU included leading the Banner Bags Program as Project Manager and presenting at both the Western Regional and the National Competitions. Even after a remarkable year with SIFE SFU I still continue to crave more SIFETASTIC moments and looks forward to helping take SIFE Simon Fraser to the next level and uphold its lasting legacy as the Renegade Chapter! (Be sure to ask me about what ‘Renegade Chapter means!) Last but not least, I enjoy reading historical fictions novels, conquering my over the top bucket list, watching movies, and going for runs.

What is your most memorable moment in SIFE?
Hm, this is a tough one (trust me, there are lots). I would have narrow it down to the moment where SIFE Simon Fraser was named 2011 Western Regional Champions in the Go Green Challenge! After months of hard work followed by days of anxiety, it was rewarding to place first in all of Western Canada!

About yourself:
I enjoy being active in sports, and currently play organized hockey on a championship winning team. I’m bringing what I’ve learned about team dynamics and always driving for the win from hockey to my work with SIFE SFU. I joined SIFE SFU knowing that I would be challenged to better myself, and to apply what I’ve learned to the world outside classroom walls. SIFE itself is bigger and better than I imagined as I see students striving to make a lasting impact in their community. I’m looking forward to a great year, and to working with amazing people.

About yourself:
I’ve been involved with SIFE SFU since Spring 2009. Since then, I’ve been a project member and an officer; this year I’m ready to challenge myself as the Director of Member Relations. Through my experience with SIFE SFU, I’ve found that what makes this organization stand out at SFU is the team’s passion in reaching out to the community, and the tight bonds this big SIFE SFU family has created in doing so. Aside from being involved in school, I enjoy taking photographs and eating out! One of my mottos has always been “I live to eat, not eat to live” and those who know me on a personal level know how excited I can get when food is mentioned! So if you know a good place to eat, let me know!

Apart from taking classes, I dedicate a lot of time volunteering at various events on campus and taking up positions in organizations that help me expand my skills and meet more people. My most memorable moment in SIFE is being a presenter at Regionals in 2011. Along with my partner, Irina, we went through four months of hard work and countless hours of practice. We placed runner up at the competition, and this was one of the most satisfying moments in my life.
